South African made LM safety selector.
 
These selectors prohibit the use of full-automatic mode by having a cut in the arm which clears the automatic sear in the trigger mechanism. They were made prior to the 1994 elections, intended to convert R4 into LM4s. Marked with SINGLE SHOT some Security Forces R4/ R5s were converted in order to be used by the members to provide security at polling stations. This was done to comply with with an instruction to not have fully-automatic firearms present at polling stations in the 1994 election.
